Hi guys,
I had a meeting with one of the organisers of the
BrightonSEO<http://www.brightonseo.com/>conference today. Essentially,
they've approached us as they're looking for
some interesting / entertaining / conversation-inducing projects that they
can have on display during the after party of their conference in April.
They're particularly interested in getting Brighton's maker community
involved, and were wondering if we either have any projects that we would
be willing to bring along or if we can suggest any local makers who might
fit the bill?
Things that they already have booked in for the after party are retro
arcade machines and roller racing bikes, so interactive games-y stuff would
probably fit the bill quite nicely.
There is some budget available, but while it would be nice if the hackspace
could get a bit of income from this I think it's more important for people
to receive a reasonable payment for any larger projects that they offer to
lend to the event as there's always preparation and set-up time involved in
things like that. It would be a great bit of promotion for BB though if we
some presence at the event.
The conference is taking place on Friday 12th April, and if you've got any
existing projects - games, installations, performances etc - that you think
might be suitable then please let me know and we'll have a think about a
reasonable quote to provide for them.
Thanks!
Em
