Is anyone up for manning Build Brighton exhibits at the Maker Faire on the
8th Sept?
We have 2 robotic xylophones, and the exercise machine controlled
scalextric (2 seperate things). Ideally we would want 4-6 people looking
after these 2 on the day, and the scalextric needs to be set up
(probably on the Friday) - which takes a couple of hours.
we will be setting up the scalextric at the space the week before as it is
quite complicated to construct. So please let us know asap if you can help.
Please shout up if you are able to volunteer for this (this is
completely separate to the general maker faire volunteering.

Just to clarify what's needed for Scalexercise, i'll be able to help with the construction of it on the Friday night - tbh it will need either me or Matt there to do this, but helpers will be grand.
On the day though, i'm simply not going to have the ability to look after it in the regular sense, so we need 2-4 people to look after it. This is mostly putting cars on the track and making sure kids are using it safely (and not pushing in! damn pushers!). I'll be around of course for any serious issues with it.

Happy to help out, however Friday evening I will be meeting up with
Georgina Voss and Co to be explained health and safety details, etc for
being a helper. So outside of any of the general helping I am asked to do,
I'd be happy to watch some stands, as I doubt I'll have anything of my own
to show off this year.

I've put my hand up a few too many times I think.
I've said I'll help out with whatever needs doing over the MakerFaire weekend but now I'm getting emails from all over the place. I didn't realise it wasn't the same person/group behind each one...

Depends. Georgina and Anna (both BB members btw) are looking after the volunteers, and Emma is heading up getting the org done for the after party (I think Georgina is helping with this too).
There are several roles though:
* Soldering workshop
* Manning the Info Booth
* Stewarding
* Maker Buddying (helping man stalls, get drinks, give out food)
* Maker interpreters
* Friday night set-up - decor, gophering, maker shepherding
* Saturday main event take down
* After party set-up
* After party take down.
In addition to these BMMF roles though, there are also the BB responsibilities:
* Manning the BuildBrighton stand -- and populating it with cOol sTuuF.
* Looking after Scalexercise
* Helping Matt with Roboxylo.
* Sleeping over at the space for the MakerCamp hackathon (Friday night to Sunday day)

I'd like to help out too. I'd like to be an interpreter (did I need to fill in a form for that?) Or failing that I'm happy to man the scalexercise or wherever else I'm needed.

Hi all - as Mike says, I'm co-ordinating the wider pool of volunteers for
the day. If you're interested in more general helping out/volunteering,
could you stick your details here and I'll get in touch with more
information:
