Subject: Getting ready for Maker Faire!

Hey everyone,

We've only got a couple of weeks until we're going to have a bundle of people wondering what the hell Build Brighton and hackspaces in general are at the BMMF - and hopefully deciding that they would love to be a part of it!

We're also going to have a bunch of other hackspacers and makers from around the country coming to see the space on the Sunday of the BMMF weekend - and some staying over for the whole weekend.

We really need to get a bunch of marketing materials together -- typically we've been really bad at this, and have just done a rush job on a friendly laser printer before the event. We should take this two-week opportunity to get some stuff properly printed!

Can anyone volunteer for this? I don't have time, due to the rest of my Maker Faire commitments + EMF camp.

I'd say we need:

1000x flyers with general information on what we are, how to find us, and how to join. Nottingham have bookmarks for this - they are really nice and a bit less throwaway -- they have actually got a members by sneaking them into relevant books in Waterstones!

1x big banner (2ftx8ft) -- Matt has found an ebay seller that does this for <£30. We just need an amazing design for it, that tells people what we are and how to get in touch.

Any information on how to sign up for the workshops for the BDF -- chris?

Signage at the back of the space sorted - it's hard for people to find us at the moment, we just need a sign by the buzzer. That ideally lights up!

I'm up for helping get some flyers and posters sorted out. We should've
done this aaaages ago!

Also, I've been thinking of looking at the intercom to see if there's a way
of powering a sign from it, there's a light inside the button so there must
be some sort of supply there.

The power supply is in the grey box marked 'intercom' in the electrics
cupboard. I think it's 24v?
