Has the API changed? Cannot use the API to post photos... has there
been a change?

Indeed, has it changed? After submitting a checkin request with the
correct OAuth user authentication, I get a 422 response with the
message "You must be logged in to do this!". Before the update, I
could perform the checkin without a problem.

doesn't seem to work anymore, but

still does.
There goes my BrightKite integration :(
