Landscape Committee Report from Carol Fifer: Spring Clean-up this Friday 10:30AM/ Monday 9:00AM A great big thank you to Carol Fifer and all she has done for the grounds at the community center. She and Heidi McLoughlin made it possible for us to enjoy the grounds at the community center side yard and front. Here is a message from Carol. She has done so much work and now she needs more help. Here is what she says, “I was able to clean up the flagpole area except the tall Karl Forrester grasses need to be cut back. The wraps around the tall trees were removed but I didn't get to do any more than that on the side area. I removed the weed fabric around the flagpole plants except for one small area on the left side by the parking lot. It might be too late to do that because those plants will be flowering soon. A little clean-up and cutting back on the smaller perennials on the side would be in order and an application of a broad spectrum fertilizer all over should be done Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Eunie had some lovely paver stones she volunteered to donate to put a little walkway from the bridge over the creek to the concrete patio since that seems to be a preferred path but we didn't get time to finish that last year. Maybe Denny would be willing to being them down to the station. The landscaping was designed to be very low maintenance but will need a bit of attention in the Spring and again in the fall. As my back gets stronger I will stop by to do what I can. I suggest you be careful about any additional plants people may want to donate or install because there are some which require just too much work.
