Subject: crossing over
i have been doing kickboxing for a few years now and i would like to
try something new. I have heard from a few friends that BJJ is a very
good thing to experience. I was wondering if i could get some insight
on the things to come or what i should start out with. thank you

Expect the class to be mostly sparring.  I'm not sure about all
schools, but in mine they are 2 hours of classes.  approx 20 min of
excercise, 20 min of technique learning, 20 min of trying the new
techniques out back and forth light resistance, and then an hour of
sparring (trying to tap your opponent or not get tapped if your new
lol) at full resistance.  In the beginning, you'll probably just want
to work on the movements and positioning and expect to get tapped
often.  I've only been taking it a month now, and the first two weeks
were brutal, but now I'm in shape enough to handle it, and am getting
tapped far less often and have tapped a few myself.
