Diet and exercise may help with academic performance.  In rats, a Western diet (high saturated fat) lessens grey matter.  Diet seems to be the most difficult to improve, and there is not enough research to know if anything improves cognition and much as it delays cognitive decline.  Jogging 30-40 minutes a day may be the way to go, combined with strength training.

Can you link to the research on western diets in relation to gray matter, I would like to see this. As far as I know there has been plenty of evidence on the requirement of fat in human diet and benefits of it. Western diet has a high percentage of carbohydrates and especially processed sugars but especially high ratio of carbohydrates and very low ratio of proteins. Ample research has shown the negative effects on simple carbohydrates and processed sugar on the body. I've never seen anything on the effect of high saturated fat on gray matter.

Get a hyperbaric chamber. They heal the whole brain and make it more powerful. I leased one out for $150 a month. It is $6,000 including the $600 5 year warranty. It has been the greatest investment I ever made. I didn't buy the oxygen concentrator because I read about the effects diving had on PTSD sufferers. Hyperbaric chamber sessions simulate diving and divers usually breathe a mixture of air that is the same as ambient air (21% oxygen 76% nitrogen 3% other gases). So I decided that ambient air should be enough. Since using the chamber, I no longer have PTSD symptoms, my focus is better, I am happier than I have been, and my thinking is clearer. The more sessions I put in, the better I feel. Areas in my head where I felt very little sensation have been warming up when I go in the chamber. I believe the warm feeling is blood flow to areas where there was none or very little before.

It takes time for the brain to heal though. The chamber helped my PTSD symptoms right away but I didn't start to feel happier until two months of using it. I have felt a lot of warmth on the right side of my head but I have just recently started to feel warmth in the left side of my head. I believe this is because the left side of my brain is the most damaged. My head also feels so much lighter now. Years of living with uncontrolled bipolar probably caused a lot of brain inflammation. I also take folic acid, 11 omega 3 fish oil pills, 2,000 IUs of Vitamin E, 5,000 mg of B12, 2 gingko bilobas, and 7 grams of lion's mane mushroom powder a night.

Look into lion's mane mushroom aka hericium erinaceus mushroom. I felt nerve pains within 6 months of taking it. I still feel very slight sensations when I'm in the chamber sometimes but for the most part I don't feel pains anymore. The mushroom is supposed to regenerate the nerves and increase myelin (the coating around the nerve that speeds up the signal). Also look into The Salts Of The Earth And Synthetic Insanity by Dennis Miller. It is a book about the truth behind manic depression but I think it might apply to you. It talks about manic depression is a kidney disease that involves an energy leak of vitamins and minerals. I suspect that a lot of people with ADD may have a less severe form of manic depression that involves mild hypomania.

Thanks for the advice but I would love to help develop the mind without taking drugs, etc. I mean more mind games brain development software like DNB
For now I'll start to fitness to play DNB and play chess, by the way anyone know the type of game "Chess blind" I think to start playing the type of this game that is based primarily on memory but I heard it's not healthy that is running too much pressure on the brain and one of the coaches Chess said he would make insomnia anybody has any idea whether it is really able to put pressure on the brain? Because I think I need to exert some pressure on myself (I'm a flying drop) Yeah and when you answer please also answer the main question please because I do not want to debate ignores the main question Thank you!!

This paper cites the study I was referencing on the first paragraph.  The rats also became obese, which also could have accounted for the reduction in gray matter

ADHD people are known to avoid medicine.. it's very difficult to convince them. probably they have some idealism.. consider their brains to be too great to be polluted by any kind of medicine.
another reason could be that they secretly enjoy some aspects of their brain.. like capability to argue and wind (no matter how trivial the matter at hand is).
they fail to understand what they are losing as a consequence of not treating their brain condition.

if you are not willing to take medicine, i would recommend you to listen to this lecture series by an ADHD expert- Russell A. Barkley:
as per this expert, ADD is one of the most treatable disorder!  (yet only 1 in 10 ADD persons take medicine, if i remember statistics correctly)

there may be downside to taking medicines , but there are downside to not taking medicine too!!!
so one has to choose between two bad options, after deciding which one is  less bad at a given point of time!

one solution could be to take the medicine off and on, on need basis...

ADD people are likely more creative, but when studying creativity doesn't help much. there are tons of things to be done in limited time- having ADD is a clear disadvantage in such a scenario, IMO.
Moreover, most of the medicines wash out of our biological system once those are stopped. So, even if somebody doesn't want to take medicine as a long term solution, he/she should consider taking it for some period.. say for a month, to see what it is like to live/learn/perform without ADD.

also check the book- 'Making a Good Brain Great' by Dr. Daniel G. Amen. It's a very good book to understand the basics of brain functioning... and to understand the cause of ADD and effect of untreated ADD.

I strongly urge you to at least give hyperbaric chamber treatment a try. Go to a clinic and pay for a session. Try to stay in the chamber after it has fully pressurized for at least an hour. Make sure an oxygen concentrator is being used because it produces a more powerful effect. Hyperbaric chamber treatment permanently changes the brain for the better. It may take a lot of sessions depending on the severity of the problem, but it is well worth it. It works because the pressurization of oxygen forces it to damaged areas in the body and brain that weren't normally getting it. You are giving your body what it needs to heal properly. It is vastly different from drugs because it gets at the root cause of the problem and heals it.
