Dual N Back For Depression

I was wondering if anyone else here plays dual n back to help with
depression?? I did two hours of n backing on wednesday, five hours
yesterday, and i've done about two hours so far today. I find that i
make breakthroughs in my thinking rather quickly (within 3 or 4 days
sometimes) when i push myself like this. I'm already feeling a whole
lot more happy and focused. I have a friend who is a bit slow and he
started n backing. He experienced positive benefits within a week and
he didn't play very often either. It seems like I have to go above and
beyond to make the quantum leaps. I believe this may be because its
hard to get my brain out of depressed mode (which is basically working
memory shut down mode for me). I wonder if anyone else here has
depression and also feels this way.

i never played as a treatment for depression.

i am not making any personal recommendations, but...

i would think that 25minutes of uninterrupted cardiovascular exercise
at 80-85% maximum target HR 3days a week, building to 4days a week,
may possibly be beneficial at keeping depression at bay.

according to some research, tDCS, 20minutes, 1ma, at F3 (anode) and F4
(cathode) of the 10-20 eeg montage, 5days a week, 20-30sessions, may
help with depression (assuming right handed-ness)....i think i read it
may thwart recurrence for 3-6months

electrode size could be about 2inch by 2inch or 2inch circular, not to
exceed current density 80microamps or whatever it was (so possibly up
to 1.5ma with 2inch by 2inch electrodes)....60microamps may be a safer
limit.

1inch=2.54cm, so 2inches, about 5cm, so 5cmX5cm=25cm2
1mA/25cm2=.04mA/cm2
1.5mA/25cm2=.06mA/cm2, or 60 microamps i think


i think some doctors out of atlanta do this (originally primarily pain
treatment, but now they do other things)

it is also possible that 1500mg-2000mg of epa/dha in a ratio of 3epa/
1dha or higher may help prevent recurrence.....

i use minami fish oil

i have no idea if any of this stuff works/helps, just stuff i have
come across

in my opinion, it may.

but i doubt dnb does.........

in theory, dnb might if it can increase blood flow to the dorsolateral
prefrontal cortex and stimulate neurogenesis or some other improved
prefrontal balance/activity

when i was doing nback a year ago, i had also a "mild" depression. i didn't knew about any depression effects in that time, but it helped me with symptoms like "fogged" thinking and concentration and suprisingly i've also noticed a slight mood enhancing.

about omega3. i tried it for several months (2/1 epa/dha ratio) and i didn't felt anything.

regular running helps, but only as a short time (half day) mood enhancer.
