Hello Boxsters,

Today is the middle Monday in June, 2026, and time for a new Free download.

This week's FD is another goody extracted from Chris' extensive Photoshop PSD file.

The art is by Heller artist Paul Lengelle, and was featured on their 1/72 scale, 1967 release of the French Potez 540 reconnaissance/bomber.

Only 192 of them were built and the Potez 540 served in the French AF from 1934 until about 1943.

Many of them also served in the Spanish Republican AF during the Spanish Civil War.

All the images are 1280 pixels.

Congratulations on finding the artist's name!

He certainly did quite a few box tops for them!

Form follows function. But it didn’t function well, either.

I have never built a Heller kit in my life, but I have to say some of those ungainly monsters appeal to me. Might try one.

I have bought and built a few Heller kits.
Aircraft and submarine kits, all well made.
Easy and fun to build as well. Enjoy!

Many Heller kits are great. They were a revelation when they first appeared in U.S. hobbyist shops: so many interesting aircraft we had never heard of. A lot of those kits are simple, but basic outlines are good and they are good platforms for detailing. And they are cheap!
