Dear Colleague,
The Press Release for my recently published NATIONS HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL
is now available. Please CLICK HERE
for the complete, online version.
Building on my book's findings, I propose exploration of the psychological
sources of collective forms of violence that have dominated the Twentieth
and Twenty-First Centuries—posing a threat to the survival of the human
race.
People examine in great depth the psychological sources of behavior in
nearly every dimension of human existence. Yet when it comes to motives
underlying collective forms of violence, barely a peep. Isn’t this
astonishing? Yet silence is taken for granted. Why do we hesitate to extend
psychological insights into the domain of politics?
I’d like to know your thoughts on this issue. Why are psychological
concepts so rarely brought to bear upon behavior in the domain of politics?
Why do we rarely apply the term “disorder” to the bizarre, massively
destructive forms of behavior that occur on the stage of politics? These
are questions my research associates and I are posing.
Please respond by providing your own insights and observations. These
will be appreciated and very helpful to us as we move forward with our
project. To provide your own reflections, simply go to the bottom of the NEWSLETTER
PAGE. We look forward to receiving your response.
Best regards,
Richard Koenigsberg
