Bloggy Blog and email group question

Quick question about our email list(s): This one says "Public".... is
that for all the world to see or just members? If all the world, then do
we have an internal member's only list? Just curious and trying to be
the least amount of spammy that I can be. Sorry all you "Public"!

Also, I could write a blog about the 2012/2013 Apogaea effigy that me
and my team built. While I did not build it in the hackspace itself,
several of the hackspace members were directly involved. Plus, it's
cool! A picture is attached, if you have no idea what I'm talking about
-- it's about 12 feet talk. We burn it soon -- assuming no last minute
fire bans!!! So the blog post could have lots of pics of it on fire, too. ;)

[Boulder Hackerspace]

This group is for all the world to see. It should be set up so that only members of this group can post, but if you search and find it, you can read everything we've ever posted, member of not. It's not 100% secure, hence the occasional spam message with an Arabic subject. But, there hasn't been one of those in awhile. It's wise to never post personal or sensitive information here as hackers (the "bad" kind) and spammers can most likely find it.

This Google Group was created waaaay back in the day, when we first started meeting at The Cup (it predates me), so I have no clue who the owner is (though I'm assuming it is Dan DB). Anyone who is a member of this group should either be a member of SSD, or someone who likes to keep up with us (like the few Phoenix Asylum peeps), or lurkers who just like to chime in every now and then. If anyone does not want to receive these emails, they can leave the group or opt for the digest format where they only get one email every week or so. So don't worry about posting here. That's what it's for. Anyone abusing this group will be notified, and kicked out if their behavior continues. 

We do keep track of all the current, paying SSD members, however there is no group for that since that lists fluctuates monthly. That's why we point everyone to this group. The main purpose of that was to have a list of people to send out the new keycodes to, but that is now obsolete since the RFID door was installed. We mostly just keep track of that info for admin and financial reasons now. 

If you have something urgent that needs to be addressed you can email SSD_Admin-at-googlegroups.com. that goes to all the administrators of SSD. But for general conversation, keep it here. 

And, yes, we would love to do a blog post on your effigy. I think there was enough SSD involvement to make it worthwhile. Thanks for the offer Somer.
