Has anyone already built a text editor (or pulled one from django/python pages that can be attached to the add grammar / add translation pages to directly edit these items from within BOTS?

Hi Harold,
An interesting idea... I had thought about this. Bots could almost become a "private cloud" EDI service.

Things I would like to see:
1. For viewing only, a web viewer, possibly with python syntax highlighting.
2. For editing, use my own favourite editor; provide a download-edit-upload functionality with appropriate security.
3. Configuration > Routes. Show which routes have routescripts, allow view/edit.
4. Configuration > Channels. Show which channels have communicationscripts, allow view/edit.
5. Configuration > Translations. Each one should have links to input grammar, mapping script, output grammar, allow view/edit.
6. etc?

Kind Regards,
Mike

Mike, I do agree with 3, 4, 5. It would be very nice to at least have an indication about this, would be even nicer to view this.

About the editing: looked at this once or twice.
AFAICS this might be useful to do 'a bit' editing (small corrections).
I would not want to do a lot of work with this; main reason is that I always do the change in test-env, test it and than distribute.
Doing ad-hoc changes in a remote environment is not real good practice I think (yes, and I know very well it could be practical sometimes ;-)
(as an alternative for remote env I use Filezilla for ftp, I can edit a file in my editor, and when I save it is saved over FTP.)

just my thoughts,

Yes I agree that remote editing might not be a good idea; I probably would not use that myself. But quickly viewing the source while troubleshooting would be useful, even for the more technical end users to just "take a look".

I don't have ftp on the bots server, but on a separate server. I use a file share (windows) for source access, this works ok for me.

Kind Regards,
Mike

hi Mike,

make a chagne that displays in route if there is a route-script for the route:
Issue 224: Add: show in GUI if there is a route-script for route

kind regards,
