To all,

bots 3.0.0 is out!

list of changes (and migration instructions) are here: http://code.google.com/p/bots/wiki/Migrate300
migration is not hard, but as the database has changed a script should be run manually to convert the database.

highlights:
- better scheduling (using jobqueueserver, see http://code.google.com/p/bots/wiki/Jobqueue)
- handling of (communication) errors is clearer now (and simpler)
- many functionalities that needed user scripting are now in GUI (eg naming of files, pass-through)
- configuration change management: pushing configuration changes from test->production environment; see http://code.google.com/p/bots/wiki/DeploymentEnv
- many (smaller) changes in GUI.

Alas: the database as used in the 3.0.0rc version has changed! See in migration instructions.

kind regards,
henk-jan ebbers

I'm upgrading this weekend. Should I run the script to convert the database before running the plugin to upgrade?

I had a look at the Django framework after learning that is what BOTS uses. I think it is really great. I was sold pretty quickly on it and am now using it in a couple of my projects.

This is great news. Thanks Henk.
What would be a recommendation for AS2 software from the perspective of integrating with BOTS.
Should I go with open AS2 or Mendelson?

Mendelson works OK fro me, never tried OpenAS2.

As far as I'm concerned, I do agree with Henk-Jan: Mendelson works fine.
I also use Hermes2 from CECID HongKong University - using a MySQL database, maybe more "flexible" than Mendelson.
But Mendelson allows more signing algorithms (not only SHA1) and gives a better Certificate Management than Hermes2.

Kind regards,

Jean-François

Thanks Jean and Henk. Planning to do a prototype with Mendelson.

Does BOTS support translation for EDI 846 - inventory updates? I am able to translate the 850's and 856's.
