Welcome to the Boston Area Haskell User's Group!
And please think up a better acronym!

Anyway, the first meeting will be on this upcoming Saturday, the 28th
of February.
Directions to BlueSpec are linked from the HaskellWiki page:
http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Boston_Area_Haskell_Users%27_Group

If you plan on showing up, please send a message to this list.

If you'd like to talk about some neat code you've written, or read
about or something else hands-on, send a message to this list and show
up this saturday!

The agenda currently shows me (Shae Erisson) talking about QuickCheck,
SmallCheck and friends, and Edward Kmett talking about either comonads
or Kan extensions. I'm sure more people want to talk about their cool
code, right?

Unlike AngloHaskell or EuroHaskell, I'm not planning on bringing a
unicycle to this meeting.

The ICFP deadline is Monday. If my paper is done, I'll come to the
meeting.
If not, I won't.

I'll be there rambling on about comonads as usual. ;)

I plan to attend as well, though I am curious - am I blind, or is
there no time posted anywhere? When should I be there?

Start at noon gets us all in the same place at basically the same time.

As more of a thoughtstream than a timetable:

After that I figure we're likely to wind up spending 20 minutes or so waiting for stragglers to get into the building, Shae will do his quickcheck shpiel, we'll take a break and I'll go through what I have with me on comonads, hopefully with a break in the middle and a couple of 'derive them yourself' exercises if enough of the audience have laptops.

All told I think Shae wanted it to officially last a couple of hours because he didn't want to talk himself hoarse, but at last check we don't have an official hard stop time.
After that what we do is pretty much open. I know we want to try to figure out the venue for the next time, and I personally would love to get a chance to hang out, talk and probably migrate to a pub or something from there. Not being familiar with Waltham, I'd have to defer to the Bluespec guys about what makes sense in that area, but I have a GPS and little fear of getting lost. ;)

In addition to Nikhil -- who has already replied -- we have Joe Stoy,
Ravi Nanavati, Jacob Schwartz and myself from Bluespec planning to
attend, with a couple of other people unsure if they will be able to
make it or not.

I'm too sick to show up.. I won't be there today, I have a flu that was circulating at work.
