Observation date:    11/25/09
Notes:    One can get amazingly close views of the ducks at this beach with just binoculars(the naked eye too for that matter) There is an awesome ocean view as seen from the sidewalk at north end of beach, simply breathtaking.
Number of species:    19

American Black Duck    2
Common Eider (Atlantic)    40
Surf Scoter    44    Very close views, and these ducks have adorable head movements. The males were also fun to warch as they chased each other. I viewed them directly across from Myrtle St., which is near Locust St. and Hawthorn St.
White-winged Scoter    7
Bufflehead    2
Common Goldeneye    2
Red-breasted Merganser    7
Red-throated Loon    2
Common Loon    1    seen at Seal Harbor Apts(just north of the beach)
Horned Grebe    3    Seen at Seal Harbor Apts.
Northern Gannet    1    technically not the beach, as I was at Seal Harbor Apts. at the time, close enough
Purple Sandpiper    1    on breakwater(one of the five sisters)
