http://boston.rubygroup.org/articles/2007/08/08/ for Directions.

Ruby Clinic:

John Norman and others had the idea of putting together this clinic.
As John says, "Bring in existing code, break up into groups of, say, 1
needy developer and two kibbitzers, and then refactor. It could be
good as a code review for more experienced or expert Rubyists."

* Lightning talks (7-7:30)
* Clinic (7:30 - 8:30)
* Results and wrapup (8:30 - 9:00)

* Clinic Projects Chris Maxwell is looking for help with his Rails
site is a basic Rails site
* ....

The meeting room is provided by The Berkman Center for Internet &
Society at Harvard Law School

The meeting is sponsored by Brontes Technologies.

Folks,

Here are a couple of random ideas to make this happen:

-- If you need help, you might want to e-mail this group and say that
you're going to be at this meeting. (It's August . . . who knows, it
may turn out that everyone is off enjoying the summer!) You might
describe very briefly what your issue or range of issues is, and
solicit some interest in advance of the meeting. In some cases,
helpers might be able to do more if you can zip up your project and
e-mail it to anyone who might be able to lend a hand.

-- There are going to be other cases where, perhaps, you have nothing
but an idea and you want feedback on any appropriate gems you might
use to accelerate getting to 1.0.

-- I suspect there may be some code out there where it works but it
needs some beautifying, or needs expression in more idiomatic Ruby.
This is another place where if you have some heinous spaghetti code,
it could pay to circulate it a day or two in advance. Don't be shy.

John
