Guess what? There's a Michael Warner who's published a book arguing
against same-sex marriage. But he's not just another conservative, far
from it - his argument is that marriage itself is a Bad Thing, and
that gay folks shouldn't even want it!
Have any of you cheerful people heard of this guy?
We have now!

Actually, I typed "Ernest Fairchild" in a google search a few days, for
shits and grins, and was amazed. You won't be truly freaked out until you
see what your name has been up to while you're asleep.
Have a great day!

The only other usenet Michael Warner is an SF fan and a college
student. I can live with that :-)
I seem to moonlight as a Californian chiropractor, a PE
teacher in Pensacola Elementary, a Stevie Nicks fan in
Newhalem WA, and an Accredited Buyer Representative
designee in York County.
I get way more links that any of them, though. <smug g>

Oh shock! I typed my name in the Google box of Opera, and the first thing
I found way my own (but old) web site.

So do I with my name. But there only seems to be a 23 year old athlete
with my name. And he had only two hits. All other 148 were for me.

i've heard the argument, but not the name. there's a radical element in
the gay community that sometimes comes up with far stranger things than
this :)
Congratulations. Or sympathies. As appropriate by your estimation!

Kind of fascinating to see what I get up to when I'm not paying
attention!
FWIW: All the guys I found seem to have descended from English roots. My
little clan is basically German, where the family name was Low??????????
or something! Great Grandpa got tired of trying to teach Americans to
pronounce it, so he just lopped it off.
Ineffectively to simplify the pronunciation, _and_ it abandoned uniquely
as well! <sigh>

Believe me, "Meyer" (and all its variations) wouldn't be too easy. With,
"Huber", a fair percentage of any German telephone book.

My name brings up a lot of Doctor Who web sites. Seems that many people
still have me listed as a spokesperson for my club. They haven't
updated their sites yet. Other hits includes articles about my Dad who
used to ice race. As in racing cars on frozen lakes and ponds. But not
a lot of leather sites...

the breckenridge family is an old prestigious one. there have

that family.

When did you withdraw from the scene? When you became hooked on the

there are many, many variations of "Loewe" with one suffix or another. From
your current name, I would suspect it has something to do with Loewe. I don't
know what path your ancestors used to get to the U.S., but the Ellis Island
Foundation has a pretty nice site for getting info on the folks that came
through Ellis Island.

I didn't actually withdraw from the DW scene. I just stepped down from
being the Knights' membership officer. Now I'm just a contributing
writer for the newsletter. And even then, just for my fictional column
"Memoirs of a Time Lord (sort of)" And strangely enough the name of my
recent story in the newsletter is "Leather Gods of Phobos."

Forget them all. Soccer is a joke, and its supporters are idiots.
(In case you're wondering, look at how the Dutch behave during European
