First, we didn't promise anything.
Second, we said we promised it mid-2007. That's when it should be
here, just like we said.

Ok, maybe roadmaps are not promises but users have to rely on something.

Thanks, that I have not seen anywhere.

SOrry to be hyper about that, but we categorically /can't/ promise
anything. Just have to be clear on that. I understand you guys rely
on our roadmaps.
Don't mean to be a pain, just being sure that we don't give the
impression of /promising/ anything.
Yes, it is later than we wanted and I would like to have seen it some
time ago. However, it ships when they ship it and we can't change that.
I wish they had enough resources, etc. to get this out 6 months ago
and make it a good product. I am just hoping that it is worth the wait
and gets accepted into some of the VS only shops.

No this definitly is not true.
If you re-listen to the first 24 hours of Delphi you will notice that
about 31-34 minutes into one of the sessions it was told to the
listeners that a .NET 2 compatible version of Delphi would be released
shortly after .NET 2 was released.
Till date, it hasn't been released.
Even if you stretch the meaning of "Shortly After" beyond all limits
you're late. Very late.

You need to listen again. Danny said "we plan to.."

You're definitely stretching the meaning of "plan".
