I have D2005 Architec on a W2K3 x64 Standard for quite some time and Im very happy with the performance and I havent had a problem using it although I really havent tried doing some real projects on it. A couple of weeks ago I had this idea for a project and I wanted to try and do it with Delphi.Net, however when I try to run the app from the IDE, the IDE gives me an error "A call to an OS function failed". What could this mean? So I thought that it may be a .Net thing, so i tried to do it with Delphi/W32 and still I get the same error. And the funny thing is that it doesnt happen everytime, usually happens when I run the app from within the IDE for the first time, so then I just stop it from running then hit F9 again and it usually works.
This works for about 10-15runs and then the IDE gives that error again and then the IDE crashes. So my workaround for this for the past couple of weeks is that I never run the app from within the IDE (I build/compile from the IDE and run on Windows Explorer), however I would like to step through some of my codes and that I cannot do.
I searched the web for something similar with this issue and found 2 of them, QC#8172, QC#20209
Note also that I havent encountered this type of error on a D2005 Enterprise on an WinXP Prof. 32-Bits. I have update 2 and 3 on both installations.
Any solution for this problem?
Thanks
randy.
