Hello,

I use Delphi 2.0 and the Installshield Express from Delphi 2. I Have
problems to install the BDE with the Installshield. If I start a
installation where the BDE is used I get a error message that it can't
right istall the BDE.

Is there another way to get a funcionable BDE on another computer ?

Please help !

Thnx !

Can you give us the exact error message that InstallShield displays during
the installation when it fails?

If you are running the installation on Windows NT, 2000, or XP, make sure
you are logged in as Administrator before starting the installation.

I have a Wise script you can use. It's on Code Central at:

http://codecentral.borland.com/codecentral/ccweb.exe/listing?id=17173
(binaries)
http://codecentral.borland.com/codecentral/ccweb.exe/listing?id=17174
(source)

You can also get them from:

HTH,

What version of the BDE are you trying to install? The version of IS Express
that shipped with D2 will not correctly install BDE 5.x.

No, I use only WIN98 - it should work.... SHOULD

But David R. Robinson gave me a source of another installation program
for the BDE - I think it will better work. I tell you if not...

Greetings and thanx

When I will use it on the borland server I get "Internal Application
Error
Catastrophic failure" - you could think that it is an MS-Server...

But on the second source I could download it.

I will test it on the PC where I had the problems and then we will see.

Much Thanx

The version of InstallShield that shipped with D2 will not install BDE 5.x
correctly because the files that comprise the BDE have changed.
