Ypsilanti Non-Motorized Plan Before City Council - Tuesday, December 15th
At the Tuesday, December 15th Ypsilanti City Council meeting, that body will formally accept for review the draft non-motorized plan for the City. It would be great to have a small group of pedestrians and bicyclists appear at the meeting to voice support to the proposed plan during the audience participation period at the very start of the Council meeting (you would have 3 minutes at the most). Also, just for clarification, the City Council will not actually vote on the plan on the 15th (that will come later in 2010), but a showing of support for the draft plan is still very important on December 15th.
The Council meetings are held at the Ypsilanti City Hall on the southeast corner of
Michigan and Huron, with bicycle parking (bike hoops) available on the Michigan Avenue side of City Hall. The meeting would start at 7pm and the audience participation segment is at the start of the meeting agenda. If you can't make the meeting, but still would like to comment to the Mayor and Council members on why having a plan for bicycling and walking facilities in the City is important, email address can be found at
