Subject: Border To Border - Ypsi Support Resolution Help

One thing I want to do over the winter is to try and have pretty much all
City of Ypsilanti neighborhood associations pass a resolution that seeks
completion of the B to B trail through Ypsilanti.

The resolution, which is below, has two purposes. It would be used to convey
a sense of the community to government bodies to complete the Ypsi segment,
and second, be used as support documentation to obtain grants and other
funding.

Is there anyone then that lives in the City of Ypsilanti and could could
present this resolution for passage at their next neighborhood association
(for a listing see http://www.ypsicopac.org/neighbor.htm and
http://www.ypsicopac.org/sites.html)? I will hopefully be able to attend the
meeting, or if not, supply documentation and handouts. This resolution has
already been approved by the Prospect Park Neighborhood Association (my own)
and hopefully in the next week by the Ypsilanti Downtown Association and
Ypsilanti Downtown Development Association.

If so, if you could get back to me at
wolver...@yahoo.com<http://us.mc450.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=wolver...@yahoo.com>,
it would really be appreciated.

*Resolution In Support Of The Border To Border Trail In Ypsilanti*

Whereas, the Border to Border Trail, when completed, will span across
Washtenaw County, roughly following the Huron River. The pathway will
connect communities, parks, and educational facilities, and be approximately
35 miles in length. In addition, other facilities, such as bike lanes, will
connect into the Border To Border trail, helping create a larger
non-motorized network in the County, and

Whereas, the Border To Border Trail would be a major recreational, and
non-motorized transportation, source to the residents of the City of
Ypsilanti, and

Whereas, the Border To Border Trail could bolster the local economy by
bringing to the community bicyclists and walkers who would visit local
businesses, such as restaurants and various merchants, and

Whereas, while the City of Ypsilanti is undergoing financial restraints,
funds for the completion of the Border To Border Trail through the City may
be available through sources outside the City

Therefore Be It Resolved that we fully support the completion of the Border
To Border Trail though the City of Ypsilanti, and urge that local government
bodies place a priority on such a project.

Be It Further Resolved that we support the efforts of local government
entities to obtain grants and other external funding to complete the Border
To Border Trail
