League standings as of Sep 29, 2006

Hi all

 

The league tables below, after five quizzes. Rishi will be doing a post on this shortly. Let me again summarise the basis for points:

 

1st place: 10 points each

2nd place: 7 points each

3rd place: 4 points each

Finalist: 2 points each

 

In case of a tie for positions, we'll always have a tiebreaker for first place, but otherwise split points. (That's how some of us who tied for 2nd and 3rd in Rajiv's quiz for 5.5 points each.) At the end of each season, I recommend we don't take an aggregate, as that will penalise people who don't take part in all the quizzes or who start late, but results from the top 60% of total quizzes. So if there are 20 quizzes in the season, we take everybody's best 12 quizzes. Other suggestions welcome, though we should freeze on that mechanism fast.

 

Anyway, the table: I'm not listing two pointers here, but all the results are below. In case I've made an adding error somewhere, or overlooked anything, please let me know.
