Hi ,

I am getting 1 strange  problem of session replication while using IE 7/8 ( > 6 )  to open  the webapp.

I have deployed my WebApp in tomcat 4.1 & on Jboss 5 too but it never gave such  problem  while viewing with IE 6.0

Actually i have created different users having different priviledges given to the  webApp.

Steps are as follows >

1) log into webApp as ( say ) user1 in IE 7

2) open a different browser instance of IE 7.0 from  short cut provided on Task bar

3) log into Webapp as other user say User2

4) go to previous  window of user1 -> refresh page  then it vl show  the page of user 2

& user 1 is gone......

I tracked the session & found that  on opening   new window  it is opening the webapp in same session ..beacuse it is  showing same session ID in both instances.

does anybody has  some idea , how  it is happening & why.?

It is not giving any problem with IE 6.0

Thank in advance

Regards
Shweta

The search phrase I used in google was "internet explorer 6 shared session"

this is what I undersand when session sharing in IE6 & IE7

IE6: If you have logged in in one browser instance and open a new one from the same window, session will be shared. If opened from IE Tool bar, session will not be shared.

IE7: If you have logged in in one browser and open a new window/tab from same browser instane session will be shared.

Hope it helps
