Hi All,

I am working on eclipse 3.4.0 from the past 6-7 months. Today, I woke up in the morning and realized that my eclipse is consuming more resources than necessary.

Currently, it is consuming 310MB.

Can anybody help me out to tune my eclipse?

Hi Manoj,

Though it may not be an appropriate reply/help, recent version of eclipse has a Garbage Collection Facility on demand with a button. On clicking which it helps reclaiming the unused memory on demand.

  Can try it out once.

Hi manoj,

May be the eclipse store the debugging information. just check out its documentation . and try to remove that temporary files....

same thing i came across in netbeans, it may be in ur IDE also...

Maybe its time to ditch eclipse?
Given any thought on emacs + cedet + jdee ?
I will vouch for emacs + cedet. I use it for all my non java
programming. emacs is a superstar.
jdee I havent played around much with.

I know this doesn't answer your original question but take it fwiw.

cheers

I doubt if I can use jdee as unix server is installed in USA. This app
will be very slow if I try to debug java code. However I will try this
app once I get back to office on Monday. I hv been workin on eclipse
for more than 2 yrs. And feelin very comfortable nw. But it seems I hv
to cm out of my comfort zone n try other things :)
