I finally got the beta release of JActor out. At .8 billion messages
per second, it is fast enough that you can now use actors
ubiquitously.

With the code out of the way, I need to turn my attention now to
writing slides and such. Hopefully you will let me do a presentation
at the next meetup? I think my first talk should be about why actors
are important.

P.S. Including a map in the last announcement was quite helpful. --b

Good news. I've fixed my bugs and, except for updating the benchmark
results, release 1.0.1 is ready: https://github.com/laforge49/JActor

So now I can start thinking about putting together some talks on
actors and JActor.

Mmm. I'm not free of the code yet. After the release I got to thinking
about synchronous messaging across mailboxes, wrote some test code and
found a number of bugs--including some inherited from the AsyncFP
code. So work on presentations is delayed by a week. See
https://sourceforge.net/p/jactor/blog/

(It has been a long time since any real bugs have been uncovered, and
this is a first for the JActor project. Guess I was overdue.)
