Here are the details for May 2012 at Boaters.

=====
Sunday 6th May - Torus

Torus was originally formed by bassist Mick Sexton in the 1980's to celebrate the music of that period. The band reformed in 2011 for a series of very successful gigs and so it's a pleasure to welcome them to Boaters tonight. Their repertoire includes timeless classics by the likes of Steps Ahead, Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea. The current line up features Jonathan Gee, who has become one of Europe's most celebrated jazz pianists, along with original saxophonist Gary Plumley, who has a huge CV of pop and jazz credits, including Snowboy and Terry Callier. The line up is completed by drummer Trevor Taylor.

=====
Sunday 13th May - Frank Griffith Quartet

Born in the USA, Frank lived in New York between 1980 and 1996 where he worked with Ron Carter, Jack McDuff, Buddy Rich and Mel Torme to name but a few. He currently leads a 9 piece group and its most recent album is called "The Coventry Suite". A tenor saxophonist, Frank is also very well respected for his composition and arranging skills and is also currently one of the major jazz educators in London. Tonight he leads his own quartet with Mark McKnight (guitar), Mike Gorman (organ) and Matt Home (drums).

=====
Sunday 20th May - Sector7

Sector7 is an exciting new septet who explore jazz and soul standards in thrilling harmony. The group features a unique line up of four singers plus rhythm section and they take their inspiration from the likes of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Take 6 and The Swingle Singers. Their material is drawn from the classic jazz song book but also includes contemporary material by artists such as Stevie Wonder and Jill Scott. Sector7's vocalists are Sarah Ellen Hughes, Emma Smith, Kwabena Adjepong and Shakka Philip, and they are joined by George Moore (piano), Tim Thornton (bass) and Chris Draper (drums).

=====
Sunday 27th May - Jacqui Hicks

One of the country's finest jazz and soul vocalist, Jacqui is known for her work with Shakatak, Matt Bianco and, more recently, a new standards project with John Critchinson. Expect to hear a great selection of jazz standards and classic soul songs by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. She is joined tonight by Simon Carter on piano, Phil Mulford on bass and drummer Frosty Beadle.
