The session on the whole was extremely helpful. It gave a good start
for Summer of Code.
The idea of taking one particular bug and fixing it worked perfectly
well in giving us real experience on how to do things.
The better management of crowd, being spread over two labs, was
another plus point.

Looking forward to the full fledged hackathon.

Namrata.

P.S. : Was very interesting to see the entire lab join bmslug on irc
and the number of members being recorded. :)

it was a very good technically driven session which was very much needed to proove or to show what is that freedom that usually people talk

------------------- regarding the way the packages were managed was a plus point
------------------- another observation is that svn and gdb topics should have been stretched

thanks for organizing a very good useful workshop

Hi

Has anyone blogged about this? Is there a detailed report up
somewhere?

the handson session on hackathon was gr8.
it was first time i was working on linux os.
but still it was fun to understand new things.
specially in the end when i finally learned how to make a patch,
though it was a very small patch
for a bug in DAA,
but it was gr8 to learn that.

waiting for the next handson session.

not linux os ------------------- it is one of the distribution
where linux is a kernel of GNU OS

The correct name is, therefore, GNU/Linux because Linux is the kernel
and GNU gives the basic set of tools that you require for living on
the Linux kernel, like ls, cat, more, EMacs and gcc.
