Overview:  CRRT is Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy or acute kidney dialysis.  I will cover the basics of the CRRT modes of delivery and the design aspects for patient safety.   CRRT is an increasingly popular way to treat acute renal failure in an intensive care setting. In many respects it is similar to standard hemodialysis (or dialysis), but there are some notable differences in methods. The main reason CRRT is chosen over hemodialysis is in ICU patients the hypertension caused by standard hemodialysis can have significant negative effects. Bio   Tommy has successfully run a medical device commercialization and consulting company here in Houston for over ten years Cooper Consulting Service (CCS). CCS is an engineering design and development company specializing in the design of medical electronics products, electromechanical systems and sensor products.  Founded in 1986 by Tommy Cooper PE, the company has successfully developed numerous medical products for use in cardiovascular, cardiology, obstetrics, audiology, neurophysiology, nephrology, patient monitoring, medical teaching, home care, telemedicine, pulmonology and other market areas.
