Hello,

I am using bluepill on Karmic and I am noticing a steady increase of
memory over time.

My bluepilld process started out at near 14mb of ram but it is now up
to 27mb after one week. I have been checking it every day and it has
progressed steadily up to that point.

My config is posted here: http://gist.github.com/267175

I didn't want to post this as an issue until other's had a change to
look at my config to make sure I am not the issue ;)

Hello,

Your config seems fine. It may be an edge case that you're running into that we're not. I tried using your config options with an accelerated version and didn't see an increase in memory over time. It might be dependent on the version of ruby you are using and/or certain behavior characteristics of the process you are monitoring. Can you tell me what version of ruby you are using and how often your process exceeds its memory/cpu usage or if it ever dies on its own.

As far as I know, the processes haven't died at all. They are really
solid little daemons, but I really need to be 100% sure they don't
die.

ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-12 patchlevel 174) [x86_64-linux]
Ubuntu 9.10

I've ever seen the daemon die once before we started using bluepill,
and I think that was because of lack of ram on the server.

Is there a better version of ruby to use?

Has anyone else encountered this issue? We've been using it on 1.8.6
for a while now and haven't had a memory leak. I'm curious to know if
there is a problem with using 1.8.7. If anyone else is having this
issue, please post any details here and I will look into it some more.
It'll be an opportunity to use Joe Damato and Aman Gupta's memprof
tool :)
