Attention Bluemont Civic Association (BCA) Members:
March 25 General Membership Meeting—
7:30 pm at ATS
Environmental Landscape Supervisor Patrick Wegeng will be on hand to discuss the Bicentennial Flower Garden and the reconfiguration of the Bon Air Rose Garden. Proposed cuts to the 2010 Parks budget are significant and will further restrict the types of flowers that Wegeng’s landscaping team will be allowed to plant in the Bicentennial Flower Garden.
At the February meeting, the membership selected a replacement for the fencing removed from Bluemont Park in August. The design includes intermittent landscaping. Although plant selection will take place at a separate meeting with county staff, Wegeng may be able to provide the membership with some insight and advice on what kinds of plants might be suitable for the site.
If you haven’t yet paid your 2009 dues (your renewal date appears on the newsletter address label), please bring $15 cash or check to the meeting. Renew your membership now in order to keep receiving the newsletter. (If you did not receive a March newsletter, then your membership has expired.)
