Bluemont Civic Association (BCA) Members:
Dec. 8 Joint Meeting
BCA will hold a joint Executive Board and general membership meeting at 7:30 pm on 12/8/09 at Arlington Traditional School. There will be no meeting held on Dec. 23, and our first general membership meeting of 2010 will be held on Jan. 27. Happy holidays to all.

The following BCA members assisted in distributing a flu prevention door hanger issued by the Virginia Department of Health to homes within the BCA area: Karen Decarlo, Henry and Mary Ann McFarland, Jody Harrington, Richard and Caroline Young, Stephanie Paup, Judy Collins, Allison Monroe, David Van Wagner and Robert Atkins.
Public Forum on FY 2011 Budget (from the Arlington County Web site)
Acting County Manager Barbara Donnellan will hold a public forum to discuss strategies to reduce the $100 million budget gap for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010. Donnellan will be making budget and service cut recommendations to the County Board and is seeking the public’s input on the principles used to make those decisions. Once drafted, the proposed FY 2011 budget will be presented to the County Board at its February meeting.
Unfortunately, the budget forum will be held on the same evening as BCA’s final meeting for the year (12/8/09). You may submit written comments about the 2011 budget to the Department of Management and Finance by visiting http://www.arlingtonva.us/departments/managementandfinance/budget/page72453.aspx.
Renew for 2010!
Bring cash or check for $15 to the 12/8/09 meeting. Or mail a your check—made payable to Bluemont Civic Association—to BCA Treasurer, P.O. Box 5134, Arlington VA 22205. (See your Nov./Dec. newsletter’s label to determine your membership status; if it says “Paid thru 12/31/2009,” you need to renew for 2010.)
