I installed BG without a hitch on my new Windows7 desktop by going to
the download page (http://bluegriffon.org/pages/Download) and clicking
on "Download Installer." When I do this on my laptop running Vista it
seems to download and then the installation hangs at the "Preparing
for Installation" point. Any suggestions?

Ok, problem solved. I had dutifully installed Visual C++ and updates
as instructed on the download page. However, I failed to reboot my
computer. Duh... Once I did this everything went fine and so far the
program is working great.
