Do you like scavenger hunts?

What about exploring the great unknown?
Are you adventurous?

Geocaching is the sport where YOU are the search engine!

Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a GPS unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they take something from the cache, try to leave something for the cache.

What is the Bloomington Geocachers?

Whether you're a seasoned veteran or have never been caching before, the Bloomington Geocachers is for you! If you don't have a GPS unit, we'll hook you up with a group that does!

We have monthly outings. Some in Bloomington, others we'll travel for weekend geocaching marathons to cool sights that you get to choose.  Or just be part of the e-mail list at Google Groups to keep up on the pulse of geocaching in the Bloomington area! Also check out the Geocaching Club at IU, if you're a student at IU!

We were recently featured on WTIU's The Weekly Special. Check out the video on Facebook.

New to Geocaching?

Come to one of our monthly events and we'll be happy to show you how to geocache. There's enough geocachers at each event that own GPS units that you won't need one at any of our events. New people and their families and friends are always welcome!
