You can avoid this problem by using the v2 API. At the moment, I can
see no advantage in using v3 because it is far from being finished and
there is almost no support from Google.
It took me several days of hard work to find out that the v3 is simply
not useful for remote blogging. Save your time and do something that
really works - and that is the v2 API for now - although Google will
tell you something different.
Maybe the situation will have changed in a year or so :)
