Hi Keir,

The other thread discussed static feeds, published externally using
FTP.  Your blog has a dynamic feed, published locally to Blogger and
BlogSpot, then redirected using FeedBurner.

Here's the feed for my blog:

http://blogging.nitecruzr.net/feeds/posts/default

If you click on that, and let it load in your browser, you'll notice
that it, too, redirects to FeedBurner.

Now, the thing about FeedBurner, maybe you've noted, is that it is as
bad as buying a car, with the options.  There are like half a dozen
option tabs, and each tab has maybe another half dozen selections
each, many selections with more selections.  Maybe, in combination, 50
- 100 possibilities.  So, even though both of our blogs use
FeedBurner, you could have options that I don't, and one of them (or
several together) could be making your feed delay.

So, here's the fun part.  You get to go into FeedBurner, and list all
of the selections that you have for your feed.  Fun?

OK, but I did check 'validate original feed' and I could see it didn't
have today's.  Also I tried removing the redirect in blogger, no
change.  That's why I brought it here.  I don't know what you mean
about all the options though, unless you mean on the Optimize tab -- I
have BrowserFriendly and SmartFeed on, same as they were when it was
working, no others.  I have nothing on the Publicize or Monetize tabs
active.  I presume that the Analyze and Troubleshootize are irrelevant
to 'settings that may break the feed'.

I would THINK that irrelevant words would indicate irrelevant
settings.  Based upon the cuteness level, which gives me heartburn
(Analyze, Optimize, Publicize, Monetize, Troubleshootize), I wouldn't
rule anything out.  I'm using both BrowserFriendly and SmartFeed,
though.

So, I'm comparing your feeds:

"scatterkeir.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false" (native)

"It Is What It Is

Keir Hardie's 'blog'

Money For Chips
Saturday, March 28, 2009 14:58"

and

"feeds2.feedburner.com/blogspot/HQbz" (from "scatterkeir.blogspot.com/
atom.xml")

"It Is What It Is

Keir Hardie's 'blog'

Cry Me A Liver
Thursday, March 26, 2009 21:00"

See a difference there?

oh totally, thanks, I didn't know about 'redirect=false'.  That's
feedburner trouble, definitely.  'Troubleshootize' (yeah, you're
right, yuck) has <i>The fix: Check your feeds for validity problems:
Original Feed Validity, FeedBurner Feed Validity.</i> and neither sees
the redirect, but the 'Original Feed Validity' link doesn't surpress
the redirect!  Seems to defeat the whole point of providing both for
comparison to me!

Hmm.  I removed the redirect in blogger, then pinged it in feedburner,
that seemed to fix it completely.  I'll leave it off for now then put
it back after the next post, see what happens.

The feed redirect option isn't in FeedBurner, it's in Blogger.  The

Try this one:

"The trouble: Your FeedBurner feed isn't up-to-date with your Original
Feed.
The fix: Try pinging FeedBurner using our Ping page. This action tells
FeedBurner to go check your feed for updates immediately."

and check THIS:

"And yeah, we're sticking with this tab title."

LOL, they know people are irritated.

Anyway, I keep thinking I saw some discussion about slow FeedBurner
feeds earlier this week, but I haven't found the threads.
