I have a domain ziyan.info. I built a subdomain blog.ziyan.info, and set the CNAME to ghs.google.com. Then I tried to use the blogger.com custom domain function, but it kept saying "Another blog is already hosted at this address." I tried some nonexistence domain like "fdsfldjaslkfa.com" and it works, but whenever i type in something.info, it says the same thing "Another blog is already hosted at this address." Please help me with this issue.
I have this EXACT problem today! I created a subdomain blog.jonandersen.info, and set the CNAME to ghs.google.com. I tried using the blogger.com custom domain feature, and it said "Another blog is already hosted at this address."

My domain is "mitcha.net" and the only thing that I can say about it, that I'm also using it with "google Apps for Y domain" but the CNAME on Yahoo to www.mitcha.net and mitcha.net is using fowarded url.., A record to Yahoo ..

I'd created a "Google for your domain" account to get email, calendar and Google pages on my domain that I kept in subdomains while my root forwarded to blogger.
I think what's happening is that blogger is trying to create a new "Google for your domain" account and finding it already taken. So it assumes someone else owns the domain. It basically comes down to an account management issue, not DNS or anything like that.
I've sent an email to Google asking if that might be it and what I should do (delete my account?)
Of course that's just my theory, so if anyone else has a solution lets hear it.
I can't believe I rampaged through my CNAMEs before I tried that. I'm gonna assume that they changed the system and my original diagnosis was correct.
I think I'm just gonna set up some domain forwarding back to blogger for http://dailyplacebo.com as a quick fix cause I'm tried of messing with this today.
Ya! I do have Google App for your domain set up. But I dont feel like to delete the whole thing and build it again. So, please fix this big bug ASAP....

Glad to hear I'm not going nuts, I definitely owned my .info domain 10 minutes ago but got the same error - thought someone had tried to connect it with their blog without registering it first. Would appreciate an update if/when you hear back.
Basically, to have your account deleted you need to contact them. Then, in order to verity that you own your domain, you have to create a subdomain (example: chicken.mydomain.com) and reply back to them, or if you are hosting your own server, create a weird file (example: mydomain/oogieboogie.html).
I've decided not to do it, as Uncle Google (I think) fixed my site so that I have both Blogger and Google Apps on the same domain! (at least for ColonyWorlds.com that is).
I don't even have that domain hosted with Google Apps. It is also .info domain. Whom should I contact if I get the same error without having the domain hosted with Google Apps.

I think I may have stumbled upon a solution regarding the mysterious "404 error" (aka to "www" or not to "www", that is the domain question).
So far I've been able to get this to work across my other weblogs, and if it works for the last one I'll detail the solution here (or perhaps a link since my last lengthy post disappeared on Google Groups, and I don't know why).
Could you please post the "solution" the quick one, in its totality here...for godaddy.com for example..
Here is what I understood... correct me please, thanks.
1. change your custome domain at blogger to point to your domain... choose without the www lets say... mine for example: israelchiropractor.com
2. at godaddy: create the a subdomain eg. google that fowards to http://www.israelchiropractor.com This is the quick fix you mentioned in your post to solve the either or dilemma, correct?
3. this just leaves the cname portion of the equation... which i'm confused about... there's the ahost cnames and mx panels...
