No word from Blogger. No improvement on the situation.
When I hit publish, it goes through the motions, then it hangs
forever, saying a) publishing files to your FTP, then b) publishing is
taking longer than expected. This never, ever ends.
When I look at my postings list page on my dashboard, the posting
looks as though it's been published, yet it doesn't show on my actual
blog.
I've checked with my web hosting company and they spent a chunk of
Tues & Weds trying to "fix" the problem but nothing worked.
This is an FTP malfunction, and I AM NOT ALONE.
We're waiting for YOU, Blogger, to tell us what's up and to fix it.
For THREE DAYS I have wanted to post. This is not cool. For some of
us, our blogs are part of our livelihood. Please, help.
When you type text: It will publish even though it says it is taking
longer than expected.
When you upload photos: It will upload the photos to your server, even
though they don't show up in the blog. If you have ftp access outside
of blogger, you can see that the files are there. I am having to then
go back to the blog and add html code: <img src="http://www.mysite.com/ uploaded_images/filename-somenumber.jpg"> It then works fine.
So the problem seems to be that the photo uploader does not re-write
the html code. In other words, blogger isn't communicating with
itself.
Yes...I agree...this is a huge pain in the ass. Especially when you
have 100+ photos to include in a post.

My text has NOT published. I have tried republishing the SAME POSTING
about 15-20 times since Monday.
Force-refreshing a view of my actual website still fails to result in
showing the posting that, according to my dash, is published.
YET, if I go into Postings > Status, then it STILL SHOWS IT AS BEING
in the ACT of publishing -- ie, the spinning wheel and the "publishing
files to your blog via FTP" message.
I can log out, try to "stop loading" the page, go away for HOURS, and
yet I go back to check the status and it REMAINS in publishing limbo.
I do not have the option of "republish index only" or "republish
entire blog" because it thinks it's still publishing.
So, unlike you, I HAVE NO FIX.
So I am not just frustrated, I'm entering into the realm of really
angry.

Same problem here, I go through this every 2-3 months. Blogger
software breaks down, the photos stop uploading, then the pages stop
updating. Blogger Tech ignores the problems for days, then posts one
sentence about it that it's finally been fixed.
I swear to God, they either don't understand or don't care, just how
disruptive this is for someone who runs a daily blog. It's like NBC
turning off for a day. People just change the channel.
Pleeeeeeeasssseeeee fix this, Blogger Tech!!! I will pay you. I
will buy you a pony. Just please fix this problem!!
My site hasn't updated with new comments number totals, new published
posts, nor will it upload images.
I was using Imageshack to upload my images as a workaround until the
whole thing stopped publishing last night.
For shame, Blogger. This is just a horribly disruptive problem and it
has been recurring every few months for the entire 2+ years of my
blog.

My gosh!!!! It seems like this just happened about a month ago and now
here we go again. I'm in the same boat I haven't been able to publish
anything through my ftp for the last 3 days. I think last time it took
around 5 or 6 days for them to finally fix it :-(

I have the same problem and the files do appear in my server but not
in my blog. I'm thinking about hosting my blog some where else. I have
tried the code someone gave but I must be doing something wrong as it
still doesn't work. How do you do it?

I have written many messages HERE regarding this Blogspot
"malfunction."
My FTP host (Siteground) also did a lot of work for me (Isn't nice to
communicate with a real person?)
and concluded this is a BS problem.
MY gut feeling is they are going to eliminate the use of FTP
hosts......
So we will end up having to change BLOG hosts OR upload direct to
your FTP file and input the HTML
for the image on to the blogspot uploading matrix----just like
previous posted images--they can be reused
without a problem.

I'm having the exact same problem. It is not my ftp server -- I had a
tech guy come out here and check out all my settings and he couldn't
find a problem.
I'm seriously considering switching to another service.
Does anyone know to contact Blogger? They cleverly hide their tech
support email/number.

Thanks for all the reports on the FTP issues that have been going on
for the last day or so; Blogger is aware of the problem and we're
working on it.
FTP is a very difficult issue to troubleshoot as frequently the
problem lies with third party hosting providers. Would you guys mind
replying to this thread with your hosting provider so we can get a
sense of which are affected? Thanks,

The issue I'm seeing most likely isn't an FTP issue. My users attempt
to insert an image - the image reaches our server, but the code is
never inserted into the post. Maybe you're looking for a particular
response form the FTP server and assuming the FTP process failed, but
I have users who will upload the same image ten times or more. Since
Blogger adds a string to the image, the user can't even create an HTML
link directly to it, since they don't know the new name. (Of course,
I'm somewhat frightened that my users would insert HTML into a post)

Yahoo hosting is having problems with FTP as well. I can publish and
upload photos but confirmation message doesn't appear and image upload
won't insert code - Had to find a workaround and take the link from my
host's site.

Hello,
I have the same issue as peaople above. Don`t know the technical side
of it but in my case:
"When I hit publish, it goes through the motions, then it hangs
forever, saying a) publishing files to your FTP, then b) publishing is
taking longer than expected. This never, ever ends. "
This situation continues for 3 days now.
You say that I shuold contact my hosting provider.
My provider is:
home.pl - the largest polish hosting provider.
Maybe you can contact them directly to ask proper technical questions.

In fact I also started to think about changing the blog soft provider
but in fact Blogger is connected with my Google account and it is very
convinient for me. For me my blog also plays a very important
commercial role as it generates traffic to my site. With this kind of
situation I will be forced to change it. So please do stg with that
situation. I checked few minutes ago I still can not publish any new
posts. I can not even publish plain text post.

I just noticed this issue today. I went to post an interview and the
images kept getting timed out over and over again during uploading.
Any word on the problem?

I'm getting exactly the same thing!! Thought I was going mad.
Add an image in blogger image window, it uploads the thumbnail and
full size image to my FTP server perfectly and quickly, but then
blogger gets stuck and doesn't update the text window.
Please fix as have loads of updates to make and can't post photos!
