You may have noticed the number of your public Followers has decreased
over the last few hours. We are in the process of integrating with
Friend Connect.
There is small set of users that already use both Blogger Following
and Friend Connect. To avoid linking the profiles of Blogger and
Friend Connect users without their permission, we have set these users
to "anonymous". They are still following privately and will able to
make themselves public again.
With the official launch of the Friend Connect integration, we will
communicate with the affected users to encourage them to reset their
relationship to public. To reiterate, the number of Followers has not
changed, and we believe that the launch will improve the visibility of
your blog and community. We will post more details on Blogger Buzz and
here as the launch approaches.

I've disappeared from all my sites I follow, not even showing as
anonymous. When I try to follow again, it says I'm already following.
Quite frustrating. Were users warned this was going to happen?

They're right. The followers are GONE. I looked at the people I am
following, but they were all public. Half of the people I was
following are just not on my list. This might be the reason for some,
but not for a lot of people.

A quick clarification on two things that seem to be confusing people
here:
1.) 'Following Anonymously' does not mean that your profile icon
simply changes to a blank picture and remains on the blog.
Anonymous Followers will no longer show up in the Following widget on
a given blog, so you won't see yourself in as a Follower. You will,
however, continue to get updates from a followed blog through your
dashboard. For more info on Following 'publicly vs. anonymously'
please see the following help article:
2.) We're going to be linking your Blogger and Friend Connect profiles
soon down the road, so we wanted to make you 'Anonymous' rather than
linking them without your permission.
Once the Friend Connect integration is complete, we'll let you know
how to become public again; which should be a very simple process.

I had 118 followers this morning and when I checked this afternoon, I
was down to 99. I've never seen anyone stop following let alone have
19 disappear at once. Is this a bug? What happened? Is there anyway to
check. Please advise. This is really concerning. There's no way to
know who is gone either...

Read the two messages above from "Blogger Employee". Blogger is about
to do an integration and Blogger will inform your Followers how to
become public again once the integration is complete.

able to open my blog in IE. I've had to strip my html of all
script...my readers get the "Operation Aborted" message if there is
any script....can't google make something that everyone can use??

When I signed in this afternoon ALL of the blogs I publicly follow had
been changed to Annonymous. I did not make this change. I then changed
them back to public but they still don't show on my profile that I am
follwing these blogs.

Our Friend Connect + Blogger integration may also affect the
displaying of certain blogs in your profile.
We apologize for the inconvenience here, but want to also let you know
that you will be able to correct this very soon once the integration
is complete. We appreciate your patience in the meantime!

I am having trouble emailing posts to other people from my blog. I get
a message that says that my emailed posts "look like spam" and it
suggests deleting the cookies on my browser and signing in again. The
only catch is that I've tried on two different computers, so obviously
the cookies are not an issue....

My problem is for over a week my posts aren't showing up for me - or
my links or a bunch of my items.... I am in the process of looking at
Typepad because I am so irritated now. Your "fix" of posting a draft
doesn't work long term. What is going on?
I know that others can still see my blog - however, I can't see any
posts and links... does this have anything to do with the changes with
"followers"?

In regards to Followers, I think it would be a brilliant move on your
part to remove the cap at following 200 blogs. You've come up with a
great gadget here but it seems pretty senseless to have something that
is designed to increase in number and be displayed showing those
numbers but then give it a limit. A lot of people are at their limits
now and this is extremely frustrating to say the least.

I really don't like the new google followers widget- it messes up the
appearance of my site so much, plus it has a link to google that I
don't want. It's much larger, and much more obnoxious and less
streamlined than the old widget. Is there any way to switch back to
the old style, and if not, is there any way to modify this one so that
it's less ugly?
