I have discovered a reproducable bug in blogger. More than one person has experienced this bug.
To whoever is reading this - can you PLEASE reproduce this bug on YOUR blog, and post a reply saing you
To reproduce: 1. Attempt to switch your blog to be published as a "Custom Domain". 2. Enter a random DNS name that ends in ".info", such as "dfgjnqwerg137.info". 3. Hit "Save Settings"
It won't work! It will incorrectly report that "Another blog is already hosted at this address." This happens with any .info DNS entries. Someone else has posted about this already, but didn't figure exactly what the bug us.
AGAIN - readers, please reproduce this bug and post a reply!!
I am having the EXACT same problem with my ".info" domain too. Please someone from google fix it. I am considering give up my paid hosting and move to blogger.
FYI, I got a generic response from the blogger team:
> Hi there,
> Thanks for letting us know about this bug with the new version of Blogger. > We'll look into it and hope to have it fixed as soon as possible. In the > meantime, we appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
> Sincerely, > The Blogger Team
Also, this link may relate. It suggests that Google intentionally disabled blogs on info domains:
Hmm.. thanks for the info. They haven't answered me yet, but maybe it's true that they have disabled .info domains because of spamming or such. I have bought another domain to use that is not an .info domain, but maybe I'll wait to see if they fix it. I want to use my .info domain.

Maybe you would be better off using the other domain. Many network techs (especially those who fight spam) are convinced that assholes like Alan Ralsky and Sanford Wallace were the instigators of the development of the .info TLD.
Be careful who you get into bed with.
And Jon fails to warn you here. The "solution" presented in the referenced article is not recommended. The whole article smells, to me, of spanked spammers. There is no reason why downloading software, to your computer, should have anything to do with enabling a .info custom domain to work. MHO anyway.
Yes, I'll agree with you that the article smells "Spammy", I am from Sweden and the other domain I've bought are "prylinfo.se" (.se is a the Swedish domain), so maybe you are right that it would be better using that instead.

Ok, but what if I have only .info TLD? Cannot be anything else just bug, it is working well with google appz for domain, i see no reason why to not work with blogger.
