I've seen that other people have had the same issue already so I'm
just adding my voice to the annoyed and disappointed user base.

I imported my Google Reader feeds into the Blogger Following feature
and now those blogs are showing up twice in Reader, with no obvious
way to hide or remove them, other than unsubscribing individually.

Please fix it so that you products work properly together!

Do you have a setting "Show followed blogs from Blogger" in Reader
Preferences?

I have the same issue and yes, I unchecked the box so that it would
NOT show followed blogs from Blogger - it does not work.  They still
show!

This is a very serious issue which has caused me to pretty much ditch
using Google Reader.  I cannot tell you how obnoxious it is to have
something break and not be able to fix it.  It won't let me unfollow
some of the blogs that I had started to follow, instead returning an
error message.  Also, in Reader, there is no way to delete the group
that gets created "Blogs I'm Following", so you can't get rid of the
duplicates.

Clearly this was NOT tested!  This is basic stuff, and I cannot
believe that they released the "following" functionality so
dysfunctionally!

rayna,

We are ironing out a few kinks regarding the integration of Following
and Reader, and hope to have this issue resolved shortly.

In the meantime, you can check the status of this problem on our Known
Issues blog, which can be found at:
http://knownissues.blogspot.com/2008/08/readinglist-and-manage-blogs-...

Thanks for your patience here!

Thank you for responding.  This is VERY frustrating.  I just nuked the
entire contents of my Google Reader because of the duplicates.  There
are still blogs listed in my dashboard as blogs that I am following,
but I am not following them.  There are two that I cannot delete when
I go to the "manage" page.  These two problems are not listed on your
"known issues" blog, so I figured I would reiterate them here.

Is there any ETA for getting this issue fixed?

I'm still having this issue with not being able to exclude Following
from being added to my reader.

And everytime that I unset Show followed blogs from Blogger, it resets
itself.

My cache is empty.

The description listed below is not the issue that seems to be common.

If I had known that this was still an issue, I wouldn't have just
imported half of the blogs I read in Google Reader into my Blogger
Follow list. VERY frustrated that they are showing up twice, and that
any subscription I had renamed has had the name reverted. I just
wanted them to show up on my Blogger profile! I ALREADY read the feeds
in Google Reader--why would I want them to show up there again?

And yes, I've unchecked the "show followed blogs" box and cleared my
cache.

The Known Issues for Blogger blog says the Reader compatibility issues
were fixed in August, but this is not so.  I just want the Blogs I'm
Following to stay in Blogger and not cross over to Reader.  Is that so
hard?  (Apparently it is.)
