I had wrong count number for three of my four labels. It showed several more posts than the number of posts that actually had the label. So I have removed all the labels from all of my posts and still these three labels are there with positive number (2/4/2 respectively) of posts. How do I remove these phantom label counts or reset the labels for my blog?
I switched to the new Blogger (ex-beta) and created some labels for my past posts. I edited a post, and that post's label had its count increased by 1. So now the problem is:
- The label count is wrong (the label for a post that was edited has a label count of 2, but there is only 1 post).
- If I remove the label from that post, then the label count is 1 but there are no posts with that label.
- If in the "manage posts" menu, I click on the "ghost" label, blogger will display something like "no posts found".
There is no way I can remove that label from the label list, the count has been permanently increased.
I'm having the same problem, i.e., not all posts are showing for label searches. I have many blogs, but I'll give those interested this one example to look at:
I'm aware of the old templates/new blogger bug, but I feel one should not have to give up an old template that is working to fix this. I feel a patch should be provideded, a code to put in our templates, whatever...

None of the solutions offered (changing the case, refreshing the browser, clearing cookies and cache, removing the Labels page element and replacing it) have worked for me, nor apparently for multiple other people.
Interesting - thanks for giving me some specifics. For anyone else experiencing this problem could you let me know what your blog's URL is, along w/ the particular labels that seem to be affected? Thanks!

I have traced the problem down to editing posts. Every time I edit a post with a label, the label count is incremented. Deleting the post or removing the label will only decrement the label count by one.

Some (not all) of my labels are affected by this bug. For instance, every time I create a new post with the label "books" the label count under "books" decreases rather than increases. Before joining this group I sent an email to blogger (about 1 week ago) asking for help but obtained no response. Can someone in the blogger team explain what the issue is and what is being done to repair it?
The case sensitive fix did not work for me, and re-labelling everything did not either.
Based on Daves comment I found out what is causing the incorrect label count in my blog. I experienced the same as he did. Every time I edit the post which was already published the label count raises and it doesn't matter which label it belongs to. The label count doesn't show on my blog web page because I removed it. But in my account under "Edit posts" it is still showing incorrect count.

It finally looks like someone is looking into this, so let's give them details people! ***Blog URL: http://jurnaliancu.blogspot.com ***Labels with false counts: Concerte - shows 6 posts and contains 3, Diverse - shows 20 posts and contains 16, Franta - shows 1 and contains none, FrantaP5 - shows 56 posts and contains 46, Ganduri - shows 18 posts and contains 14, Internationali - shows 9 posts and contains 5, Munca - shows 22 and contains 18, Orleans - shows 2 and contains 0, Paris - shows 3 posts and contains none, Prieteni - shows 3 posts and contains none, ROInternationals - shows 5 posts and contains 2, Romani - shows 24 posts and contains 19 ***Labels that can't be deleted: any of them ***Labels that I actaully want to delete but can't: Franta, Orleans, Paris, Prieteni (the ones that show posts but actually contain none) I was bitchin and moanin on this thread too: http://groups.google.com/group/blogger-help-troubleshoot/browse_threa... and it seems others have joined in. If there is any other info that can help resolve this let us know.

Yes, I have encountered the same problem as Monika describes. The label count goes incorrect when one edits a post that is already labeled. The count of those labels increases by 1 without the actual number of posts increasing.

Thanks for continuing to report this problem. There's definitely something going on here, and we'll do our best to track it down and resolve the issue.

Any ideas would be appreciated; I am willing to provide feedback.
I converted from the old blogger version; I'm not sure if I first added a label, or created a new post and then created and assigned a label, but then created a new post and then assigned the same label, created a few more entries and new labels and then learned that there was a miss-spelling in a label, "watewater". So I removed the label from the bad posts but the labels still showed up in the label list on the published blog. I then deleted the posts (No posts with bad labels left), but bad label still in the published blog label list with the old number of assigned entries (2). Deleted all posts, ate the cookies, deleted temp files, rebooted, etc.... still showed all labels on live site (with no posts). I've since added new posts and I can see the bad label in the apply label list drop down selection, but not the remove label list.
