I have been using templates from OurBloggerTemplates.com for a while.
I have just started a new blog and I attempted to upload the xml from
one of their templates and got an error:
We're sorry, but we were unable to complete your request.
When reporting this error to Blogger Support or on the Blogger Help
Group, please:
* Describe what you were doing when you got this error.
* Provide the following error code and additional information.
bX-bliced

This information will help us to track down your specific problem and
fix it! We apologize for the inconvenience.
I've searched for the bX-bliced error and not seen anything. I tried
uploading three different templates - including one that I've used on
another site. You can see that site here: kiriath-arba.blogspot.com
where I'm using "The Professional Template". Attemping to upload the
same template to my new blog theartofholdingon.blogspot.com resulted
in the error above.
I've also tried manually cutting-and-pasting the xml (after first
checking the "expand all widges" box) and I got the same error.
This is pretty frustrating, because the error gives no indication of
what is wrong, and the exact same code has worked for me previously.
I just tried uploading the trusty "The Professional Template" on a
third blog I have (theoriginalstorminmormon.blogspot.com, but it's
private) and it worked without a hitch.
Went back and tried it on "TheArtOfHangingOn.Blogspot.com". Same
error. I noticed that it was also giving me a warning about deleting
widgets, so I went ahead and manually deleted them all first. Then I
tried again. Got a new error this time:
We're sorry, but we were unable to complete your request.
When reporting this error to Blogger Support or on the Blogger Help
Group, please:
* Describe what you were doing when you got this error.
* Provide the following error code and additional information.

As an aside - these errors messages are really worthless. I mean,
I've gotten two and they are totally uninformative and searching the
discussion forum has gotten me not a single hit on either one of them.

Oh, for the record, I went and tried restarting my browser (Firefox),
clearing cache, etc. and uploading the .xml. I still get the
bX-39cc9q error. But if I copy-paste the entire xml instead I get the
ole bX-bliced error.
Fun times. I've also tried this in Internet Explorer 7 with the same
sad results.

This really makes no sense to me. It's a freshly created blog.
Haven't done anything to it. I know the template works, I've used it
on two other blogs.

I don't think anything will get done unless enough folks have this
problem, so go tell other people you know who use Blogger to see if
they run into the same issue (if they've got a test blog, that is,
don't want to get people's real blogs jacked up.)

i'm also getting this error. someone in another similar post made a
note that this error seems to be a relatively new error (starting
around Feb 12th) so maybe this is just a glitch in the system
overall ... hopefully it'll get fixed if enough people complain about
it

Same error. From searching around the group it looks like people may
be getting different error codes but essentially experiencing the same
problem as of the last two days or so. So my guess is that something
truly is broken on the Blogger side of things. You can tweak code one
line a t a time but uploading or copying in a template (even one that
is working on another blog) will bx-misc #s or bx-slice you.
It's pretty darn irritating, but it comforts me that other folks are
having the same issue. When I posted this thread originally, it was
only after a search for "bx-slice" revealed no hits, and I was afraid
it was some random SNAFU with my blog. Now it does look like a more
general issue, so maybe it will get fixed.
I've definitely started looking around for alternative free blogging
but I don't think anyone's got anything as good as Blogger. I really
do love Google products, but when stuff goes wrong there's no recourse
at all. That's the downside of free. We're not Google's customers.
The advertisers are.
