Also email [email address] with the problem. They will fix it if
we let them know it's going on collectively.
I'm getting the same problem. Blogger usually responds within a day
but people need to speak up. Thank you for starting this thread and
yeah, I notice blogger publishing for folks using FTP is taking a lot
longer than expected today . . . It's a big problem for me because I
like to publish 20 to 30 posts a day.

One blog last successfully republished March 24th.
Since then, both of mine have hung, until last night, when the smaller
one republished after several retries... not the big one though.
So maybe there's "progress" or something, and blogger just isn't
posting about it; but there're enough posts in this forum on the
subject, and I get an email alert on everyone hoping it wold be a
bloggerguy or gal letting us in on the fact they know.
I am getting the same problem. Although, it does seem to publish to
the blog.
I changed from blogspot hosting to my own hosting yesterday. Since
then blog search doesn't find anything on my blog and my archives
aren't showing up.

I'm having the same issue. There is nothing in my logs that shows
that it even contacting my site, and with a restart of my ftp daemon
still nothing. This has been happening since the weekend. It started
in the middle of me uploading images to the post. I can't post, post
images, nothing. I'm going to email the support email, and might have
to move to wordpress or some other system if this doesn't stop soon.

updated--but what a damned pain! glad to hear i am not the only one
and i do hope that blogger addresses this asap...

I was having problems since the weekend too. I am trying out WordPress
now, because I got so sick of posting about the problems and getting
ZERO response from anyone at Blogger.

Trying to publish via FTP and it keeps returning "Your publish is
taking longer than expected. To continue waiting for it to finish,
click here." I clicked and I clicked and I clicked........

Started with posting of images a couple of days ago, and now we can't
publish anything. We've successfully ftp'd to our server directly, and
there are no issues there. Cannot publish anything through blogger -
just getting the "taking a long time" message.
Usually, they fix bugs like this in a day - really surprised (and
stressed) that it's taking this long.

I am STILL having this problem. I first reported it two nights ago.
Then last night. And now tonight.
My posts ARE publishing... after about 12 hours! I click "Publish"
around 1am, and around 1pm, I find that it finally does. I leave my
computer on all night and all day. I don't know if this is
necessary. It's a BIG problem because if I discover after I publish
that I've made a mistake, I can't fix it for another 12 hours!
I can't believe that no one from Blogger has addressed this issue yet
or let us know what's going on. I sent an email to the support
address, but have not received a response that way either.
If this is not fixed by the weekend, I am switching to Wordpress or
Typepad. I have a very popular blog, and I can't have this kind of
thing going on.

I don't have a problem -- YET -- but I am being advised that from an
SEO point of view I should move out of a blogspot address and publish
via ftp to my website. I'm not inclined to do this until this problem
goes away.

Just an update - I did get my four posts up yesterday, but have not
succeeded at having the entire blog updated. Although it's touched
just about every file when I look at my FTP site, I only am getting
published occasionally "with errors on the page."
See if just publishing the index can get your home page updated at
least. That has worked a few times for me as well.
It would be wonderful if we could have FTP access to our account and
use our own FTP program to move the files around . . . for those
technically inclined to do so. Here's hoping this gets resolved today!
Normal publishing was restored to my blog yesterday at around 3p.m.
Thank you blogger.
I think this shows that if the users keep their problems to one thread
and don't get too impatient blogger is really great about service.
That's why I stick with them.
The person who started this thread deserves a big thanks as well.

I've been having a problem with this for about a week. The posts are
being added, but I keep getting the message about it "taking a lot
longer than expected" and my Dashboard shows that the last posting was
on 3/29 when I've been posting daily. Apparently it is FTPing, but it
doesn't know it...or something like that.
We read you guys loud and clear!! Thanks for bringing this problem
(once again) to our attention. You folks are really the voice of
Blogger so we really appreciate letting us know when something funky
is going down.
It looks as if some of you guys are now having success
publishing...great news!! For the others, here are a few things I
would recommend:
2). Clear your cache and cookies. FTP publishing seems especially
susceptible to problems related to a browser's caching of webpages, so
clearing these items can be a great fix.
3). Head to the kitchen, grab some comfort food, and then try again a
little bit later. Oftentimes the problems with FTP publishing are
intermittent and simply need time to resolve.
I hope this gets some of you folks moving in the right direction, but
regardless we will have another peek from our end to make sure nothing
looks unusual. Ciao!
This would help if this was the problem for any of us. I have tried
safari, Mozilla 2.x 3.x, Opera 9.26 on the mac(What I mainly publish
with), and tried it from a Xp box and Ubuntu machine. I'm not getting
any errors listed in your help file that I have already consulted.
And my access logs on my ftp server aren't even showing that a
connection is even being initiated. And I have let it run
continuously for hours to no success. Nothing has been change
configuration wise on my server, but your service has stopped working
for an unknown reason.
I will give you till Sunday April 6th to remedy, or I will find
another solution for this. I even be willing to pay for you to
expedite this problem because this is something that we are becoming
dependent on software of this nature.
I usually use Firefox so I opened IE 7 and tried it there - and it
worked! It took two tries, but did publish the entire blog w/o errors.
I hardly use IE so I guess there were no cookies/cache problem.
I'm still getting the error msg when I try to publish the blog, but it
does publish. I got my normal email notification that it posted, but
the publishing screen still said it was in the process of publishing.
When I looked at my posts, it showed the two entries for my newest
post. One that had been published, and one that was still a draft.
Fix your stuff blogger.
Day number 5 for me, still can't upload images. I have spent hours on
this. Tried clearing cookies and cache as blogger staff recommended.
Read all help suggestions..nothing is working. Blogger are you in
denial here? This is an issue, sending us to the fridge for snacks
seems like you are not taking this seriously.

Still seeing this issue. Images and files are sent and received, but
image links are not created in the posts. I have a group of bloggers
who are in revolt and want to switch to something else.
