5 days ago I purchased a domain name (focusonnewfoundland.com) through
Blogger, and it does not work. I was under the impression it only
takes 3 days (maximum) to have it functioning, but now all I get is a
404 error, says it can't be found. How can this be?
I asked this question yesterday, but received no reply, so I figured I
would try again.
I was told that it would set up automatically. Have I done something
wrong? Is there any way to talk to an actual human a Blogger? I can't
even find a way to email them, to get this resolved. Have I wasted $10
by purchasing the domain name through them?
Until a few minutes ago, I could not access the blog through either
the new name, or the old one at fogopix.blogspot.com, but now it shows
up using the latter. I am thinking that if the new domain name doesn't
work after 5 days, it likely never will?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Glen

I have a website called www.britishmystery.com. I wanted to change to
Blogger so last month I created a blog on Blogger britishmystery-
geri.blogspot.com - i was forced to insert the -geri as britishmystery
was already taken (by me!) So now the Blogger blog is set up and has
some posts in it, and I am ready to do what I need to do so that when
one types in www.britishmystery.com, one is taken to the Blogger site
britishmystery-geri.blogspot.com (except on the address bar I would
like the URL to read www.britishmystery.com). Also when one types in
the address britishmystery-geri.blogspot.com, one is taken to the
Blogger site but again the URL is britishmystery.com.
Well, I went to the registrar where I bought the domain name
britishmystery to add a cname record. Now I am not sure we did this
next part correctly (I found the instructions confusing)...Where
instructions stated "enter only the subdomain of the address you want
to use for your blog. For example, if you picked www.mydomain.com as
your address, enter www here." - so we entered "www". Was that
incorrect? Should we have entered "britishmystery-geri"?
Anyway, we changed the cname last night, and today, this is what
happened. When you type in the address britishmystery.com, it takes
you to my old website, not my Blogger blog. And when you type in the
address britishmystery-geri.blogspot.com, it says the page cannot be
displayed. But in the Blogger dashboard for britishmystery-
geri.blogspot.com, when you click on View Blog, you see my old
website. Quite confusing! Soo, in the publishing tab under settings
in my Blogger dashboard, I switched from custom domain to blogspot.
Now, when I type in britishmystery-geri.blogspot.com, I can see my
Blogger blog again! And of course when I type in the URL
britishmystery.com, I see my old website. Back to the beginning.

Hi Nitecruzr,
I had the same problem as Glen up there, and did what you suggested.
I switched back to .blogspot.com. then I tried to repeat publishing
back to my new domain and Blogger came up with a error, "Another Blog
is already hosted at this site". AHHHHH! Now I'm stuck in limbo. Have
you found a fix for this issue?
Thanks so much for any help you can give!

google apps settings" means.

Actually i have republished back to blogspot
(lovexiaolongbaomore.blogspot.com), and then i republished back to
www.thirdmay.net again. But i don't have the same error messages as
the rest. it doesn't say that another blog is hosted already. it
accepts but then it doesn't do anything.
i bought my custom domain name from blogger straight. So by right i
shd skip the step of the CNAME records directing.
And i have no idea why i can't even sign up for google apps!
