Does anybody know how to change an image size (i.e., L X W) in a side
bar element? I used to be able to change it in the template itself,
but I can no longer see that possibility. Please help.

Thank you for the information. However, your link seems to provide
information about placing a picture in a post. Rather, I want to
place a picture of my own size in a page element. Do I have to link
to a website rather than uploading to blogger using the page element
section. Where do I find the html code in the layout template? There
is just a general, standard code for images? Please help. Can you
guide me step by step?

On your PC resize picture in an image editor to the size you wanted.
Upload picture to Blogger post or Photobucket.com or Googlepages.
Copy the link of the picture.
Put the link instead of CAPS in code below :
<img src="LINK_OF_PICTURE"/>
Then paste the modified code line in a Html page element.
