I just read on this site that removing the Blogger Bar is a TOS
violation. I just got a blogger design template and pasted the code
into my account and the bar dissappeared. I like the new design, but I
don't want to get my blog erased by Blogger for this violation. How
strongly do they enforce this part of the TOS? I don't mind having the
bar there, but I don't know enough about templates to mess with
anything.

i don´t interpret it that way and i am a expert in contracts too.

The thing is, that some people interpret it that way. you could see me
fight with a guy how interprets it that way and we would not get
anywhere, i assure you that.

the only one that is completely a strict violation from the blogger
contract is not having a i power blogger button(in active form, meaning
you can click it) somewhere in your template.

so don´t worry about it, the blogger guys actually know about nav bars
that come and go away.. that is caused because of the blogger servers.
you see there is a system that has the only action of inserting you
that blogger navbar..if that tha system is not working right this will
cause fluctuations on te blogger blogosphere in the terms of nav bars.

so, don´t worry about it. just don´t forget the blogger button,
don´t spam and don´t cheat in adsense, and your blogger blog will be
safe.

There is a lot of debate regarding a violation of hte TOS but leaving
the navbar also provides a tool for readers to search your blog. I
would say this is a nice feature to leave in place unless you have
plans to provide your own search mechanism on the blog.

You can check your template for code similar to the following:
#b-navbar {   height:0px;   visibility:hidden;   display:none   }

If this exists then remove or comment out this code and republish your
blog and the navbar should appear.

To comment out put "/*" in front and "*/" behind, for example:
/* #b-navbar {   height:0px;   visibility:hidden;   display:none   } */

as long as a link to blogger is visible somewhere, is it?
