Dear Prashanth
I write to you on behalf of The Namma Bengaluru Awards, an annual award with the objective of recognizing and rewarding those who are contributing in many different ways and in many different spheres to our City and to their local community.
You may be aware that over the last few years our City has seen unprecedented growth – with a consequent loss of our culture, heritage and most importantly the sense of belonging in our proud and heritage-rich city. I believe it’s time for all of us to work together to bring back the sense of belonging in our city and so it would very appropriate for us to recognize those in the various Government, Civic agencies, NGOs, RWAs, Corporates that have been working to keep the spirit of Bengaluru alive despite these growth challenges.
The Namma Bengaluru Awards will be our way of saying a Thank you to all of these ‘real stars’ of our city. We expect that these Awards will foster Civic pride and community ownership and promote a culture of excellence and strengthen the partnership between citizens and Civic agencies /NGOs/ RWAS/Corporates etc. Such a partnership between citizens and all other participants in our city is key to a sustainable and strong future for our city.
I write this letter as i have personally followed the activities of bloggers across Bangalore in the past. I am particularly aware of the positive impact that you have had on our society and community. Therefore i urge you to come forward and help us unearth the selfless heroes that reside in our city
Nominations have been invited from citizens from across the city. The nominations would be sifted and reviewed by an eminent jury panel comprising of -Justice Santosh Hegde Honourable Lokayukta , Dr Devi Shetty Chairman, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Mr Pradeep Kar Chairman and Managing Director – Microland Ms Subhasini Vasanth Trustee – Vasanth Ratna Foundation of Arts ,Mr K Jairaj, IAS Principal Secretary Energy Department – Government of Karnataka, Mr Chandrashekar Hariharan, Managing Director – BCIL, Dr Kiran Majumdar Shaw Chairperson & MD BIOCON India Limited, Mr Mohan Das Pai, Director and Head – HR, Mr Vinod Hayagriv -Managing Director – C. Krishnaiah Chetty, Mr Prakash Belwadi – Playwright .Mr RK Mishra Member ABIDe, Mr Ashwin Mahesh ,Member ABIDe Ms Arundhati Nag Playwright and Theatre person Ms Ramya Actress Mr Anil Menon President – Globalisation & Smart Connected Communities Cisco Systems Dr Ruth Manorama General Secretary – Women’s Voice and Member of Parliament, Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a bloggers meet on Sunday , October 25 2009 at 4 pm where Member of Parliament and Chairman of Jury , Namma Bengaluru Awards, Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar himself will try to be present.
The meet would be held somewhere in the South of Bangalore, we shall communicate the venue shortly.
Please let us know your confirmation of participation.

Last day me and Balu were at their office and they wanted some blogger's participation ..
infact only 8 bloggers registered at the link. So they sent a mail to us asking us to drop by the office.
They already have got close to 2000 nominations for the awards ..
