Prior to Snow Leopard I regularly used Quicksilver to play music from
my iTunes library. It always worked perfectly fine.Than I got Snow
Leopard last year and deleted Quicksilver as it wouldn´t work
anymore .Today I stumble upon the new version of Quicksilver and
happily install it again but now when I select a song from my iTunes
library Quicksilver opens up VLC and plays the song there.Does anybody
know why that could be?

Thanks!

It sounds like your MP3 files have somehow had their default
application set to VLC instead of iTunes, and so Quicksilver is just
respecting that setting.

Using Finder, go into your iTunes library folder and find one of the
affected MP3 files. Select it and then press ⌘I to open the Info
window on the file. In the Open With section of the Info window,
select iTunes from the drop down menu, and then click the button to
apply this to all files of this type. If you have any AAC music files,
do the same for them.

I tried that but it doesn´t completely fix the problem. The song now
plays in iTunes but only after Quicksilver has opened up iTunes. And I
noticed something else which I only noticed after reading the
manual. The manual says after selecting a song the second pane says
"Play" by default. But mine doesn´t.It says "Open".Where do I change
that?
