the screen capture plugin is installed and chosen in the plugin menu,
in preferences > actions neither the plugin module nor any actions
connected to it is to be found... where is it?

There's two prerequisites needed to get the screen capture module working.

1. Open the Catalogue panel, then, under Quicksilver, make sure Internal Commands is selected.

2. Also in Catalog, under Application, make sure "Enabled advanced features" is selected.

After enabling them Capture Screen, Window & Region should be working.

Did you mean non-smart-ass recommendations? :)

Hi there,

Thanks for trying out Quicksilver.

Have you got those instructions from the Quicksilver manual? It is outdated, as the 'advanced features' option has been removed from Quicksilver now. There is no need to enabled them. We will update the manual soon.
If you've got the information from somewhere else, could you let us know where so that we can try and update it? Thanks

Hello there

I just stumbled across this program in need of a way to assign keyboard shortcuts to a couple of scripts, which it does fine.

But I'm struggling to get beyond that. Specifically I'd like to try the Screen Capture Module. It installed OK, &

"1. Open the Catalogue panel, then, under Quicksilver, make sure Internal Commands is selected."

... that's fine too, but

"2. Also in Catalog, under Application, make sure "Enabled advanced features" is selected." ... there is no option in ß71 (3942) to select
Application. There is 'Applications' but under that there's no 'Enabled advanced features'.

I'd really appreciate any help with my first steps with this program.

Best, MO

Hi and thanks for getting back so soon

I got the tips from a couple of places, including this Group - see above.

I figured something needs to be set to get this Plugin to work as simply installing it doesn't make it show up in the menu. I've got it installed but can't use it as is.

Best,

MO

Try taking a look at the Displays Plugin help. Go to the plugins preference pane (where you installed the plugin), and click the 'i' to bring out the sidebar, then click the help (?) button.
That should give you enough information.

Make sure the actions you would like to use are enabled in the actions preferences

Hi

I have been there but assumed the info there also needed updating as it tells me that "you must enable the "Quicksilver Commands" catalog entry, found in the Catalog Preferences under the "Quicksilver" side tab" but there is no such entry.

The majority of actions prefs are activated but I can't find anything specifically to do with Screen Grab. One action I'd like to apply to a screen grab would be to move it to a specific folder. This is activated in the prefs.

Best,

MO

but there is no such entry.

I think this is a typo in the documentation. That should read 'Internal Commands'. If you enable that you should be able to search for the Capture Screen/Region/Window objects in Quicksilver's 1st pane. I'll fix the typo now

OK, that pref's changed. And I've att. what I think "1st pane" refers to, where I'm expecting the Plugins menu to open to Screen Grab options. But as you see it doesn't do that ...?

The '1st Pane' is referring to the first view in Quicksilver's interface. Open the interface by using the hotkey you assigned on launch. Typically ⌃space

From that first pane, search for "Capture..."

“1st pane” refers to the main Quicksilver interface, not the menu. If you just bring up Quicksilver and type something like “caw”, then “Capture Window” should be one of your choices. You should also be able to search for “Capture Region” and “Capture Screen” the same way.

Gotcha - easy when you understand the terminology! As you can see, I really am new at this.

Many thanks for your help fellas,
